The Consulate General of India celebrated 'ITEC Day 2017' on HCM City on the 22 December 2017.

The Consulate General of India celebrated 'ITEC Day 2017' on HCM City on the 22 December 2017. The event was attended by several senior government functionaries, with Mr Truong Van Lam, Member of the People's Committee of HCM City and Director of the Department of Interior, HCM City representing the city authorities. Director Tien Giang Department of Foreign Affairs, Rector's Can Tho University of Technology, HUFO, VIFA, Vi etnam Fatherland Front, Government Departments and Universities along with more than 100 ITEC alumni from various provinces in southern Vietnam also attended the event. 
Speaking at the event, Consul General Dr. K. Srikar Reddy said: "During 2017-18, 10.500 civilian training slots were offered under ITEC program to 161 partner countries for various short-term and medium-term courses in institutions spread all over India". 
Presently 150 ITEC slots are offered every year along with 16 scholarships under the General Cultural Scholarship Scheme, 14 scholarships under the Education Exchange Program and 10 scholarships under the Mekong Ganga Cooperation Scholarship Scheme.
