ITEC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME
The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme was instituted on 15th September 1964 as a bilateral programme of assistance of the Government of India. The objective of the programme is to share the fruits of India’s socio-economic development and technological achievements with international community on the basis of partnership and cooperation for mutual benefit. India’s ITEC partnership with Vietnam dates back to the 1970s. With over 200 slots presently offered on an annual basis, Vietnam is today one of the largest recipients of India’s ITEC scholarships. ITEC has been an important vehicle to promote our development cooperation and human resource development in various disciplines of Vietnam. The ITEC alumni in Vietnam are today contributing to national development and modernization of the country.
These short-term training courses are for employees/officials in Government, Semi-Government, Public & Private sectors, Schools/Universities, Chambers of Commerce and Industry etc. who are in the age group of 25-45 years, possess adequate working experience and have not already attended any course sponsored by the Government of India. The scholarship includes excursion fare/economy class return air-ticket, gratis Indian visa, course fee, book allowance, accommodation, living allowance of Indian Rupees 1200/- per day and study tours during the course.
How to apply
Step 2: Submit a print out of the filled form to the Embassy of India along with following documents:
- A recommendation letter of your employer/forwarding person
- Completed Medical Report (page 5 of the form) and Employer’s Certification (page 7) and other notarized and English translated degree/certificate/birth certificate etc.
Step 3: Take an English proficiency Test/interview organized by the Embassy of India
Step 4: Final selection/award of scholarship
