Promotion of Hindi Abroad Scheme
With an objective to provide opportunity for students of foreign nationalities to increase their proficiency in Hindi language, Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (KHS), Agra under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India is offering scholarship to study Hindi language under the Scheme of 'Promotion of Hindi Abroad'.
The candidates selected for award of scholarship are granted admission by the Sansthan at its headquarter at Agra. The Scholarships provided by the Sansthan include airfare (economy class) both ways by shortest route, a scholarship of INR 6000/- (INR Six Thousand Only) per month and books grant of INR 1000/- (INR One Thousand only) per annum. Stay in hostel is compulsory. No one will be allowed to stay outside. Candidates must note that only vegetarian Indian food will be served in the hostel i.e. roti, dal, rice and cooked vegetables. It is not permissible to allow any candidate to go back without completing the full academic term.
Consulate General of India would like to invite those who are interested in studying Hindi to apply for the scholarship and send their applications to Embassy of India, Hanoi. The applicants are required to be between 21 years to 35 years. Knowledge of Hindi language is a priority. The candidates should be willing to stay in India at Agra for the full academic term and it will not be possible to consider any request for allowing the candidates to stay in New Delhi under any circumstances. Requirements of documents are as below:
1. Duly filled Application Form (download here)
2. Copy of Passport and Birth Certificate;
3. Attested copy of educational qualification Degree/ Certificate.
4. Recommendation letter by an expert of Linguistics/Hindi or a lecturer/reader /professor/director of any institute/university in the country of the candidate.
