LATEST ADVISORY (11 June 2020) : As part of the Vande Bharat Mission, Air India has updated the itinerary of its second special flight for return of Indian nationals stranded in Vietnam due to COVID-19, on Monday 29 June 2020 for HCM City-Chennai-Kochi sector with following timings:

2. Only those passengers who have registered with the Embassy of India will be considered for flying. Selection of passengers will be based on the criteria of compelling reason indicated during the registration process (https://bit.ly/2XBJDP2). Priority will be given to those facing medical emergencies, death in family, pregnant women, elderly, students, deportees, laid off workers and stranded tourists.
3. The list of selected passengers will be shared by the Embassy with Air India who will contact the passengers directly or through their representative company in Vietnam by e-mail with details of flight and fares etc. We will also alert the selected passengers in advance to expect such e-mail from Air India. Please follow the guidelines in Air India’s email for booking the ticket.
4. As advised during the registration, the cost of travel will be borne by the passenger. If the shortlisted passenger fails to purchase the ticket within 24 hrs of intimation, his/her seat will be allotted to the next passenger in the priority list. Passengers who are booked for the flight and live outside Ho Chi Minh City are advised to reach Ho Chi Minh City well in advance to board the flight.
5. Passengers who in their registration have shown their final destination/domicile in Kerala shall disembark at Kochi. Passengers for all other destinations in India will disembark at Chennai.
6. All passengers will be mandatorily required to fill an Undertaking-cum-Indemnity Bond before boarding the flight that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for a minimum period of 14 days on arrival in India at their own cost as per the latest Standard Operating Procedure of Government of India and the concerned States. In addition, any requirement for COVID tests, if mandated by the receiving States, will have to be met by the passengers on self-payment basis. These are individual undertakings and need to be filled by each passenger and handed over to the representative of Embassy/Consulate before boarding the flight. Please note that the undertaking cannot be changed or withdrawn upon reaching India.
7. Reservation for quarantine will be made upon your arrival at Chennai/Kochi, depending on the availability of space at different facilities. For this, passengers will be guided by local authorities upon arrival.
8. Please note that while domestic airline operations have started in India from 25 May 2020, international passengers coming on the “Vande Bharat Mission” flights will not be allowed to take domestic flights without completing the mandatory period of quarantine at the point of disembarkation.
9. Passengers are also advised to keep checking information issued from time-to-time by the State Governments at their point of disembarkation and at final destination regarding latest updates on quarantine guidelines being followed by those States, which passengers will have to follow.
10. Also enclosed is a Self Declaration Form, which passengers would mandatorily require to present at the Health and Immigration Counter at their point of disembarkation in India.
11. Upon disembarkation, passengers will be required to download and register on the Arogya Setu App.
12. Selected passengers would be required to report at the airport at Ho Chi Minh City at least 4-hours ahead of the departure of the flight on 29 June 2020 to complete all pre-departure formalities. Air India would undertake thermal screening of all passengers and only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the flight.
13. While on board the flight, the health protocol prescribed by Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India will have to be followed strictly. This would include wearing of masks and maintaining environmental hygiene, respiratory hygiene, hand hygiene etc. by all the passengers.

ADVISORY (29 May 2020) : We are happy to announce that today Air India has started booking for the first special flight (AI-1345) on 6 June 2020 from Ho Chi Minh City to Mumbai/Kochi for the return of stranded Indian nationals in Vietnam under the Vande Bharat Mission. Booking will be done for 135 Economy Class and 8 Business Class seats. Based on the priority list drawn by the Embassy from the list of pre-registered persons and based on the nature of compelling reasons indicated, the list of passengers for the first flight has been shared with Air India, who through their representative agent in Vietnam - M/s World Trans, will be contacting by email each selected person individually for booking and other instructions. Embassy will also reach out to the selected passengers by email/phone to alert them about Air India’s booking email.
Since the capacity of the first flight is limited, it would not be possible for us to accommodate in the first flight all those who have registered with us. Those who have not been contacted at present by either us or Air India for ticketing are requested to kindly bear with us for some more time as additional flights are arranged in the coming weeks. ADVISORY (24 May 2020) : As part of the "Vande Bharat Mission", Air India will operate its first flight (AI 1345) on Saturday, 6th June 2020 at 1810 hrs from Ho Chi Minh City for return of Indian nationals stranded in Vietnam due to COVID-19. Only those passengers who have registered with the Embassy of India will be considered for flying. Since the capacity in the first flight will be less than the total number of registered persons, selection of passengers will be based on the criteria of compelling reason indicated during the registration process. Priority will be given to those facing medical emergencies, death in family, pregnant women, elderly, students, deportees, laid off workers and stranded tourists.

The first flight (AI 1345) will operate on Ho Chi Minh City – Mumbai – Kochi sector. Passengers who in their registration have shown their final destination/domicile in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telegana will disembark at Kochi. Passengers for all other destinations in India will disembark at Mumbai. On disembarkation, passengers will be required to download and register on the Arogya Setu App. Passengers will be required to undergo a 14-day paid quarantine at the disembarkation point – Kochi or Mumbai as the case may be, at a quarantine facility at their own expense. An Indicative list of such facilities and the estimated rates will be shared separately.
All passengers will be mandatorily required to handover a signed Undertaking cum Indemnity Bond before boarding the flight and fill in a self-reporting form which is to be handed over at the Health and Immigration Counter at the arrival airport. All passengers will be required to follow the protocols and procedures including Health Protocols issued by the Government of Vietnam at the time of departure and by Government of India before, during the journey and after arrival in India.
